Instructions could be better. I cut out 1-1/2" instead of 1" for the horizontal pieces so the latch I'm using will fit. All of the inner brackets were installed on the same side as the hinge bracket as I had to mount the grille on the inside with 1/2" studs. I tried using the screws provided but the heads would slip off if the bit didn't would be perfectly aligned. I ended up with my screws. Because all the brackets were mounted on one side, there was a gap on opposite sides, so I had to add a screw on those sides to eliminate all four gaps. The hinges have a small radius , so I had to cut off the horizontal pieces at those spots The kit worked for me but with some modifications I highly recommend this kit.
