I had a 15 amp plug that I had to replace because it had melted into the outlet which I had to cut off. The internal wires are 14 gauge, so they fit pretty snugly into this interchangeable connector. The screws tend to push the wires away from the screw unless you ensure the direction of the bend is snug against the body of the connector. I hooked each wire under the notch so there's little chance of movement. The only thing that disappointed me was that there was no brass screw to indicate which screw the black wire connects to. I'm serious? So you should understand that when the connector is facing forward, the green wire is on the bottom, the white is on the left, and the black is on the right. But they couldn't afford a brass screw? One star deduction for that.
