Review on Classic Accessories 10 014 261001 00 OverDrive Charcoal by Eloy Boelkens

A lot of people liked this case at first - it's thicker and stronger than most; the edge/rim rubber is strong and hugs the bottom of the car really snugly when you pull it over the car; and the price is pretty decent too. I used it for the first time in July and now after only 3 months (although the car was in the shade of a big tree all day!) the coating is starting to "bloom". It's also NO WEATHER PROTECTION - after the desert monsoon (a brief downpour that can last as little as half an hour) the inside of the cover, and therefore the machine itself, was wet. The resolution problem is this: when I go out to remove the lid I see very small yellowish particles covering both the machine and the lid itself. It's not pollen because right now (September) we have absolutely nothing pollinating. actually fibrous. tiny little fibers about 1/8 inch long. Millions. which cover the car and which can be shaken off the cover itself. For the first month or two of ownership there was a bit of desert dust - just OUTSIDE the case - and it was easily shaken off with a "parachute clap" or two of the case. But these weird microscopic threads are endless and fly off the top of the cover again when it's removed, but they completely cover the car's paintwork, ie are under the cover. I'm afraid of breathing them in (asbestos-like?). UPDATE 3/2019: The cover has started to detach along the top of the roof where it connects to the windshield. I posted photos. There's no seam here, it's just a "corner" where the top curves away from the roof over the windshield. Within a few weeks the crease has completely resolved and the edge of the roof/windscreen is now fully exposed. This case is RELAXING. I will report their "three year warranty" if I file a claim now (March 2019).
