Review on DAP GIDDS 441128 Dap Quart White by Josh Sheehan

Beware of the microsphere!

Based on the comments here, some people are happy with their DAP putty. You may be using a different product than the version I received. Mine said he had "Microsphere Technology". Maybe they were "microbeads", but they were completely useless. The putty was dry and crumbly, barely going into the holes, and was smooth. I tried mixing with and without water. I thought maybe the microbeads were being moody. After much effort to apply putty and make semi-smooth. it never dried up. I waited a week and it still had the consistency of soft clay. It took me as long to remove several times as it did to even patch the holes - it was like digging old rubber out of drywall. It happens that the woman bought 3 small containers. I took some putty from all three. None of them dried up. I saw someone at DAP claiming that the product had expired for someone with a similar issue. If this is a problem I would like to know how we can check the expiry date. There is no expiration date (or any dates) listed on the packaging. Perhaps DAP should make retailers aware of this or weed out useless products? Either way, I don't think I'll ever buy a DAP product again. The defective/counterfeit DAP microspheres resulted in the nasty project taking 10 hours longer than any normal putty, so I probably won't forget the DAP brand.
