This is a fantastic product - easy to work with.

container opened and the putty was in dried pieces and totally unusable! I've been using Dap Fast N Final for over 25 years so I know it needs to look fluffy and stay smooth and creamy. I ordered it from Revain because it's always sold out at my local store. This is a fantastic product: easy to work with, dries well, never cracks or shrinks. I've had containers of this product in my basement for years and they haven't dried out as much. Will return!

Pros
  • grinding is not required.
Cons
  • So far so good

Doesn't last and crashes after a while.

Very light as advertised. But it doesn't seem to be advertised here anymore. A container was stuck when we opened it. When we apply it, it doesn't fill completely, leaving a lot of small "dimples" compared to the traditional composition. It is advertised that it can be colored after an hour. But it won't pour evenly, so painting over it will give you an uneven surface. Doesn't like grinding. When sanding, the pieces come loose from the holes. We found that we had to patch and sand three times…

It's somewhere between frosting and very finely ground styrofoam or something like that. It's fairly dry, extremely light and a bit finicky. It adheres well to ceiling repairs, as well as to a knife. A wet blade often gives better results. In fact, adding a SMALL amount of water to this substance will significantly change its character and give…

Beware of the microsphere!

Based on the comments here, some people are happy with their DAP putty. You may be using a different product than the version I received. Mine said he had "Microsphere Technology". Maybe they were "microbeads", but they were completely useless. The putty was dry and crumbly, barely going into the holes, and was smooth. I tried mixing with and without water. I thought maybe the microbeads were being moody. After much effort to apply putty and make semi-smooth. it never dried up. I waited a week…

Pros
  • For indoor and outdoor use.
