I got myself a new product flyer with no reviews based on what I thought was an informative product description and with so many conflicting reviews on many KVM options. When I first picked up the box it was heavier than I expected and I thought that could be a good sign and it still is. I've had the Switch up and running for about a week with no issues. The materials appear to be premium. All cables work and the connectors on the ends of the cables are sealed. The box itself is metal, and the connection points to the box are neat, arranged with no gaps in the box, well marked, and the cables are securely connected. I have a linux box, a connected pi server and a computer running windows 10. The linux box has been using a VGA connection for years and others had problems when you first connected an HDMI monitor and I did also. The consensus seems to be to plug the linux box directly into the monitor first and then reboot and it worked. . After that, when I replaced the Linux box with KVM, the problem with the monitor went away. I use a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard and I first plugged them into one of the extra USB ports on the front of the box and they worked fine. but no hotkeys. Less than a day after I asked the question about the lack of hotkeys, I was told to make sure I plugged the transmitter into the keyboard jack on the back of the box, labeled the keyboard, and it worked right away. My mistake. Finally, the box comes with a power adapter, but my old KVM switches never needed power, so I plugged everything in without a power adapter and everything works fine. I believe if you want to use a printer or a large external hard drive on one of the extra outputs you will need power, but I don't intend to do that. Low kvm is worth the money. Five stars, highly recommended.
