Insane value is good for me

The first monitor they sent me had a tiny dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I was devastated by this first world issue and immediately logged onto the Amazon chat service. They could send a new monitor and I could keep the current one while it arrived. This was perfect as I had sold my previous monitor to cover this one and needed to be PC free for a few days. The second monitor arrived in the original packaging with no defects but oddly the box said 'Returned: Not Wanted' and I assume the other buyer returned the item to their doorstep. Otherwise, I was amazed at how nice the monitor looked. The transition from 1080p 144Hz to 1440p 144Hz was certainly enjoyable, and the transition from TN to VA panel technology meant that all content on the monitor had incredible contrast that wasn't there before. With just a few simple adjustments (even without using calibration software) you can achieve a monitor color level close to IPS, which is certainly significantly better than TN. My current settings are 6500k color temperature, 144Hz, Free Sync on, 1ms motion blur off, black stabilizer 40 and fast response time. Image Settings: Contrast 70, Sharpness 70 and Gamma in Mode 2. Brightness was my other main concern. My eyes aren't sensitive to light at all, and I usually turn on each of my displays at maximum brightness. 350 nits is a sweet spot for me as that's the same brightness as my previous monitor, but this can be relative and they may only be advertising peak brightness. Overall, this is a good monitor that I think is a great stepping stone between a content monitor and a gaming monitor, combining the best of both worlds, but not necessarily the best of both. For this price, however, you're unlikely to beat the size and refresh rate with its truly best and most amazing feature: it's a flat screen, not a curve! Thank you LG
