The fan works very well. We have a bathroom fan that I installed in 1987. I would replace it entirely but I couldn't find one as good as the one we have. This is the second engine replacement ever. When I first opened the box it looked like the old one. When I tried to install it I found that the hole for the outlet was about 1/4 inch and one of the outlets was not fully in the hole. I tried fitting the new fan into the old bracket but it was 1/8" too deep and the fan was rubbing. I then lengthened the socket hole in the new bracket, this solved the problem. The fan worked well but was noisy. I sealed the edges of the bracket with tape to keep it from rattling against the case. It took care of that. The fan works fine. It's not too loud. The whole process would have taken about half an hour if I hadn't tried other things that didn't work. I thought this long description would save others some extra work.
