I don't actually use my DVD drive/burner that much, so I was very disappointed when the Apple Superdrive I bought with my iMac started having reading problems after only a few years. I've also never been a fan of DVD and CD drives that don't give you physical access to the disc - which became an issue when reading problems started and the discs wouldn't eject. Alternative. It features a slide-out tray with manual ejection, reducing the chance of losing a disc inside. And it's as fast and quiet as an Apple drive. Definitely a great alternative at the price you pay for a Superdrive.
