As a person who sleeps in the front seat with my arm under the pillow and also suffers from neck pain due to a degenerative disease, I have been looking for years a comfortable pillow to replace the obviously outdated one. I was put off at first by the news of how low the pillow is and I was very worried that there would end up being 8 (yes 8) that I couldn't handle. I'm so glad I tried this. The pillow is firm enough that I can't feel my hand under the pillow, but soft enough that my head can sink comfortably into the pillow. A bonus is the height - obviously your neck isn't twisted at an odd angle when you sleep, and it's even worse when you sleep with your head to one side on your stomach, so sleeping with my head down meant I woke up to one am a little less pain than before. Contrary to some reviewers, I haven't noticed any bad odors and this pillow is definitely not so soft that you feel like your head is on the mattress. My only issue is that the pillow is a bit small - my standard pillowcase floated on it, but I knew that when I bought it and not buying it wasn't such a big deal. Can't recommend this pillow enough - buy it if you're a stomach sleeper like me.
