I find this "lightbulb" useless as a lightbulb and when the light is on it lights up the porch about the same as a night light. If you are hoping this will replace your regular lightbulb then this product is not for you. I don't see anything in the app that allows you to adjust the brightness. You CAN set the light to turn on in the Backlight settings - this includes Auto (motion detection), On, Off. and time. As a daytime camera, that's fine - to an extent, but at night, in the light, the image is absolutely lacking. off, and only slight shadows very close to the camera when the light is on (Image 3). I put this in my regular porch lantern which sits at regular height next to my door. The lamp is directed downwards and does not block the lamp. In the app's camera view, I see the floor of my porch almost 7 feet from the light as a circle in daylight, and half of the circle is the wall (Image 1). The area cannot be changed, you can simply rotate the circle, but this does not change the observed area. When someone comes to the door, I see them from the waist down at best, no face or shoulders (we're standing right next to the camera in picture 2). The lowest settings and a notification gets sent to my phone hundreds of times a day despite nothing happening outside my door except gnats, spiders, mosquitoes and the occasional flying bee. The description of this announcement states that humanoid detection is not the case. I had to turn off notifications on my phone because it was driving me crazy. If someone really comes into the area now, I don't get a notification. However, I can set it up to take a picture and/or video when it thinks motion has been detected. So that's pretty good, and I can store a few hours of this in my phone's storage and set it to overwrite when the storage is full. They have a cloud plan starting at $4.99 per month for 3 days of storage, $5.99 for 7 days of storage, and $6.99 for 30 days. and higher if you need more memory. Oh, and it has two-way talk, and you can upload videos and snaps to save for later.
