Review on Shop Fox W1840 Variable-Speed Grinder With Work Light, 8 by Meechie Camlin

This was purchased for me as a gift by my lovely girlfriend. As other reviews mentioned the wheels were extremely out of balance but not just the wheels there were a lot of things that were bent or warped and knowing what I know now as I struggle to straighten various pieces of this machine I can see that almost nothing that came with it that needs to be straight is straight at all. The tool rest were extremely bellied I had a flatten those. Luckily they're cast of aluminum so it was easy to flatten them but unfortunately they use teeth that connect with their counterpart on the wheel well in order to tighten them down. The tool rests are aluminum and the thing that they attach to are harder steel, so that after a year of very light use the steel teeth have worn down the aluminum teeth, now the tool rest is extremely canted and using them as a guide for straightness has become pointless, using them as a rest at all produces asymmetrical results and I don't know anything I would sharpen that I don't want symmetry on. The washers that hold the wheels in place and keep things from wobbling came bent and it is not easy to find a replacement for those. In addition to the tool rest the cover for the wheels, the wheel well? Is what holds the tool rest and that is extremely bent. Smashed in, they're both the same so that I can't blame the shipping process. I have spent so much time and energy trying to fix the problems that came with this thing but I wish I had understood enough about how important it is to evaluate a tool like this so that I would have known to return it immediately. This thing is so poorly made that I will certainly never be buying a shop Fox brand anything ever again because the core of the manufacturing process and the engineering of this is so poorly thought out it can only come from an extremely flawed business to begin with.
