Review on πŸ’» Dell S3221QS Ultra Thin 4K Display with DisplayPort Certification, Flicker-Free Technology, Tilt Adjustment, Anti-Glare Screen, and High Dynamic Range by Duane Gereger

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good crisp text and colors - NOT fully HDR compatible

Although the description states High Dynamic Range in the Special Features section, please note that this monitor is not fully HDR compatible and Windows 11 states that HDR is not supported. There is an HDR display mode in the monitor's menu for both movies and gaming, but that's about it for HDR support with this monitor. Please note that when selecting HDR mode in the monitor menu, you can select HDR in the Windows display settings. The monitor claims a minimum brightness of 300 nits for HDR content, but in my experience 400 nits or more is really necessary if you want a decent display of HDR content. There is some HDR support on this monitor, but it's negligible. On the plus side, it has two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input, as well as a 2-port USB 3.0 hub. I like the curved look of the monitor but I prefer the 1500R. on a monitor of this size, not the 1800R curvature of this monitor. However, 1800R offers a better than flat display at this size, and that's acceptable. The Dell Display Manager software is good at segmenting the display into different windows with different content. All in all, this is a solid, big-screen curved monitor if a true HDR display isn't a primary need. If you want true HDR support, look for a monitor with an HDR compliance rating of 10. For the price, this is a great 4K monitor, other than true HDR support (hard to find for a monitor at this price point ) hits the mark. monitor of this size).
