I have to admit after reading the reviews on this monitor I was skeptical. Problems with finding the right color are really relevant. I spent a few days tweaking, refining etc to set it up for my comfort zone while still maintaining the right colors, contrast, brightness etc. After unboxing it was just awful. I couldn't look at it without straining my eyes and the yellow one stuck out like a sore thumb too. Thankfully it wasn't a shade of yellow as others have described, but the white looked yellow and so on. It was just a yellow color that looked almost bright. I was able to get the monitor working with some software I have and I found a happy medium between that and a combination of settings on the actual monitor. However, I believe I have a partial sub-pixel defect due to the RGB film layer. Error that cannot be corrected. But I haven't had a monitor long enough to be sure that running something like Stuck Pixel Sweeper can fix it if it's really stuck, not a film layer issue. Luckily it's not so annoying that I would send the monitor back. If it was an ugly red pixel in the middle of the screen then it certainly was. As for the stand. It's true that this stand is wobbly and I've seen replies over and over again from the same person at ASUS regarding reading the manual and tightening the screws. Well nothing helps. it's not the screws. It's just the stand and how thin it is. It wobbles from side to side as you bang your computer desk like a bobbing head. There's also a smaller monitor next to it, so I was able to use it as a stabilizer and it worked. had to do what I had to do :) The buttons are a bit annoying as they are on the bottom so you have to fiddle around until you remember the location. I still don't understand why companies do this. Put them on from the front down or sideways. it would make MANY customers MUCH happier. But I have to say that overall I'm happy with this monitor. HD videos and games look very good (I'm upgrading from a 19" Viewsonic though so I don't have anything quite like Ultrasharp etc). I won't venture to list my settings as everyone is different, but rest assured the brightness will drop by at least 20% unless you're wearing goggles, which I'll actually be ordering next week, to keep my eyesight and not damage my retina as this is by far the brightest monitor I use regularly. I find the brightness is set to 70% and I would like to lower it, but it affects videos and games. In any case, for this price you can't expect much from a monitor with an IPS panel. It's great if you're on a budget, but if you're on $300 or more, go for it! I didn't want a TN panel as I'm not a hardcore gamer etc. I wanted the good viewing angles it has. It's a simple, inexpensive, and IPS monitor, not for the hardcore gamer who plays FPS and needs every song. The advantage is that there is no ghosting, dragging, etc. I give it 4 stars, but that's probably because of that 19-inch Viewsonic monitor I mentioned earlier. Btw I almost bought a Dell U2313HM - I wonder how much better it would be for over $60. That being said, I'd recommend this monitor to people who use it in a balanced way like me (for work and play) and who aren't graphic designers or spend more time gaming than anything else.
