First, I bruise easily. However, I also used a regular styrofoam roller with bumps and had no bruising. after 1 besty session at the bar i have bruises like i was insulted. Luckily I got the original and not the x-firm. I don't think it hurt when I used it. The reason for the 4 stars is that I couldn't lie on it and ride on my back. the stand tips over. I figured I could do it. but i think i have to mount it on the wall and massage while standing. I was hoping to roll on it like a foam roller on my back.
