Like many I suppose, I ordered this camera because of its 4K/8MP resolution. And the difference in clarity from my 4MP cameras is substantial. This camera is much clearer. But it’s not just much clearer during the day. It’s much clearer at night, too.Physically installing this camera couldn’t be easier. You just mount the camera wherever you like, and then you simply run a Cat5 cable between the camera and your POE switch, router or NVR. That’s it.Setting this camera up as a standalone camera is done on your web browser. It’s very easy and only takes a few minutes. However, as is typical, setting this camera up to work with whatever ONVIF security system you might own will almost certainly be a bit more difficult and time consuming. So just plan on spending a bit of time incorporating this camera into your pre-existing system. Also, just so you know the possibilities, I bought an ONVIF camera a couple of years ago that try as I might, I was not able to incorporate into my system. I finally gave up after a couple of hours and sent the camera back.This camera is a bit pricey, but if you’re okay with that, I think it’s a great camera overall. The day clarity is excellent, the night clarity is excellent, and the motorized zoom works really well too.
