Like my other hot sleeping buddies in the review section, I have a hard time sleeping at night because I'm always too hot to sleep under a thicker blanket. I found it even more difficult to sleep after my shoulder surgery and had to wear an immobilizer to keep me warmer at night. I was a little hesitant to buy a "cooling" blanket because I didn't quite understand what that meant. I bought a double size and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's a thin blanket, but it's not just a thin blanket. I have many "thin" ceilings that just don't compare. What I love about this comforter is that no matter which side it is on, it's still nice and cool. The cooler side feels great against the skin and the softer side is great because it allows you to keep cold drafts away from your body without getting too warm. Even if you get warm under the softer side, you can stick your foot out on the cooler side or simply turn the blanket over to cool your body. I love the blanket and so does my dog. He also likes to sleep and doesn't usually stay under the covers for long, but he likes it. Definitely recommend.
