Read Below in Coils

My original 1999 Chevrolet K3500 LS 7.4L setup required me to grind and knock out the rivets holding the ignition coil to a pair of brackets. Once the pins were gone, I saved new nuts and bolts to secure this new coil. However, the mounting holes on this particular new replacement spool were significantly misaligned making it difficult to align the holes. I ended up installing it, but I wanted to point out that it wasn't easy.

Pros
  • Best in the Niche
Cons
  • Useless Features

This ACDelco reel came with hardware to mount to the factory bracket. If you are still using the original spool, you will need to drill out the rivets before you can attach the new spool to the bracket. Removing the bolts/nuts that hold the coil mount to the motor can be frustrating. The wiring harness mount doesn't move as much, which is annoying when there is a 10mm deep socket on the screw/bolt that goes into the intake manifold.

Nearly perfect; WITHOUT NUTS AND SCREWS!

Luckily I had some gear at home to change the rivets that break when you change that spool. I can't believe the seller claims there are devices. I chose AC Delco as they were supposed to be OEM parts. This reel is made in China. IMPORTANT NOTE: When replacing the coil, it is recommended that the white heatsink compound (no dielectric or silicone grease) be reapplied between the ignition control module and the aluminum heatsink. The factory creates a minimum quantity there. Wipe it off and pour…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

The OE coil is well priced and comes with the required bolts and nuts

OE GM coil - it replaced the old original coil in my 2003 Chevy Astro Van 4.3L V6 engine. One morning the van just wouldn't start, I checked the fuel which was fine, I checked the engine controls which were fine, I checked the spark which meant I had to remove the engine box. I checked for sparks on the coil wire - no spark. I took a good look at the coil and when I turned the motor over I saw it sparkle against the coil mount so I ordered a coil and since the distributor cap and rotor were…

Fits perfectly! Works perfectly! Excellent value for money and quality!

This is a Delco AC coil, not a cheap Chinese fake. The seller's price for this item is great! The OEM coil on my 1997 Chevy Silverado V8 5.7L Vortec engine (200,000 miles) was attached to the base with 2 rivets so you had to drill it out - easy - took about 3 minutes and 1 of them started right the right size drill bit that fits my drill bit. The only thing I regret about this item (not the seller's fault btw) is that it doesn't come with a set of bolts/nuts/washers to use after I drill out the

Pros
  • Great overall performance

  • Has problems

Great quality roll!

I finally decided it was time to install a new coil in my 1996 Chevy Impala SS as I don't think the original has been touched since birth and I thought so had I too ICM do why not kill 2 birds with one stone and replace both? So I ordered this new Delco AC ignition coil and as always the delivery was quick and on time. I then removed the old coil and they both look exactly the same. Now that the new spool doesn't come with a bracket I had to reuse the old one and to do this I clamped the spool…
