3 inverters stopped working within 2 months

Any moisture in the air, this thing has stopped working. 2 were installed in the interior of my truck. Both stopped working after a few months. Very disappointing. Cheap Chinese products under AIMS own brand. I bought 3 of these, all 3 got condensation and just stopped working because of the humidity.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Unsafe

Performance figures are too generous.

Tested the 1500w version with a 1200w air conditioner. It starts, runs for 10 minutes and then shuts down due to overheating. Since the housing gets very hot (fan is running) and the battery voltage is over 11.8 volts under load, the electronics are probably designed for the nominal power on the sticker, but thermally cannot withstand the full continuous load for long before it overheats.

  • Cool product

Just a little disappointing.

This was from Revain's return and was said to be fine. It was a cosmetic test that could be sniffed to see if the magical smoke had been released. He turned on the light and gave a clear, continuous warning tone and had no effect. If the siren didn't work, I would estimate the noise level better. Sounds like symptoms of failed devices are being reported here, so that came back before. I happily sent it back for a refund, which Revain kindly obliged for. Thanks to everyone for reporting the…

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Received about an hour ago, hooked up to up to 2200Ah 2/0 wire deep cycle AGM batteries and IT WORKS WITH MY 13500 BTU AC! Installation was easy too, I wish the direct connect terminal could support heavier gauge wire, I was only able to install 10AWG and barely. The 8 ahh I had didn't fit. I'm more than happy with it, didn't think it could handle AC but it still works! Sitting on 12.2v I hope to be able to run it for hours once I have my solar panel installed! At the moment it looks like it…

UPDATE! When I first read that this item comes with a 2 year guarantee it was music to my ears but when I claimed the guarantee I was told the guarantee was only for 1 year. And since that second 2k pure sine unit broke and I contacted Aims to find out what I needed to do to get warranty service and when I did everything they wanted to get it back under warranty, the shipping cost was $113. it is paid for with return shipping. It's 1/3 the original purchase price and seems a bit over the top…

Only worked well for 3 weeks.

I chose this inverter for its price and performance and it was recommended to me at a solar generator assembly site. I have built 5 more solar generators and have used Go Power brand inverters which still work great after years of heavy dusty and dirty use in my work trucks. I recently tried this brand of Aims and within 3 weeks something inside the unit was clicking after I connected a Dewalt 20v charger and a burning smoke smell was coming from the inverter. It won't turn back on. I'm…

Block AIMS solved some problems

I have a volt electric car that I use to power my house when I experience a power outage. My previous 1500w Ramsond inverter gave me a couple of big problems: The Volt keeps the 12v battery running all the time using a DC/DC converter that uses a high voltage traction battery. However, sometimes the inverter would reach just over 15V, which is above the maximum input voltage for most inverters, including the Ramsond. This shut down the inverter. The AIMS block allows an input voltage of up to…

Read my review before you buy

Really great little pure sine wave inverter. I use it almost every day in my garden in a homemade solar ammo generator (see attached picture). I bought it in April 2017 and it has been used quite a bit to power a small HDTV, speakers, coax amp etc. I have tested the "pure sine wave" with an oscilloscope and it appears on the frequency with some slight delays in the waveform signal. . Peak-to-peak was about 320V (ideally 340V). Not so hot what's up. It looked good from what I measured, but not…
