Coway Airmega 400 room air purifier is designed to accommodate large room sizes up to 1,560 square feet and cleans the air at least two times per hour when used as recommended. Coway Airmega Max2 filter-a combined activated carbon and a True HEPA filter-captures and reduces up to 99.99 percent of particles 0.01 microns in the air, including pollen, pollutants and other allergens. It also reduces more than 99 percent of volatile organic compounds and reduces fumes such as NH3 and CH3CHO. Coway Airmega’s pollution sensor communicates indoor air quality testing in real-time. The brightly colored LED ring lets you know how clean or dirty your indoor air is, every minute of the day. Coway Airmega has five fan modes: Smart, Sleep, Low, Medium and High. Noise level is nearly silent at lower speeds. Max noise at highest setting is 43.2 dB. Coway Airmega is a smart, energy efficient air purifier with a three-setting smart mode to adapt to its surroundings. Fan speed automatically adjusts based on the room’s air quality and lighting conditions to improve air quality. Coway Airmega has a timer with 1, 2, 4 and 8 hour settings, plus indicators for filter lifetime for both the washable pre-filter and Max2 filter. Coway Airmega 400 is Energy Star certified and consumes 64 watts. Limited manufacture’s warranty covers any internal malfunctions for 1 year and motor and electronic parts for 5 years. Filters are excluded.

It runs on the lowest settings most of the time and is very quiet. Very quiet

Airmega we have about 2 months. It's in a room next to the kitchen and a sliding door to the backyard. In the event of strong kitchen odors, the Airmega will automatically shift into a higher gear and the light will change to red. I opened the delivery package which was dirty and dusty about 10ft from the Airmega and it again felt the flying dust and switched to high speed. Most consumer products are easy to install with plug and play. Not this one; it will not work straight out of the box. The filters are wrapped in plastic and do not work. First you need to: (1) Check the manual how to open the left and right side. (2) Pull out the filters from each side, paying careful attention to which side of the filter is in front and which is in back. (3) Remove the plastic sheet that completely covers both filters. Update: 7/2019: very satisfied with this device. We are surrounded by terrible smoke from wildfires that causes headaches, eye, throat and lung irritation. This device is very effective in removing smoke and particulate matter odor from the air in my home. Even though we hate staying at home in the summer, smoking exposure has really made us feel better. Very happy with this cleaner! UPDATE - Coway will not repair/replace :(

UPDATE MAY 2020: The unit started making a squeaking noise from the fan which got progressively worse. I contacted the Coway warranty department but they refused to repair/replace as the unit was listed as 'used' which was new to me and extended the warranty to the original purchaser. Really powerful air purifier

We bought the Airmega 400 to solve some of the main dust and allergy problems in the home, as well as another layer of protection against viruses and bacteria. We are a family of 3 and no pets. We have a Honeywell F300 (HEPA 13) central electrostatic system (including UV treatment), but we've found that it only works best when the central fan is running at full speed (it's noisy), so it doesn't work . For us. We bought an Airmega to try first but I'll probably add another one. We are located in
