Professional level phase rotation meter

Amprobe make the best meters for checking rotation, windings and more. This product is no exception. If you're looking to buy, look no further. Click the Buy Now button! Supplied with alligator clips and probes and case. Personally, in this case it would be possible to fix something solid with padding appropriate to the size, but that would only drive the price up even further.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Nothing here

Fully featured and a great choice for HVAC or Electricians

I really like the build quality and feature set of this gauge. Features a low pass filter, low Z, 2 temperature sensor inputs, true rms, microamps, CAT IV and is government registered. I also like the dual display. It is durable and comes with a nice spacious case. I compared it to the Fluke 117 and it had more features but was cheaper and made at least as well. Amprobe is a great company too.

Excellent US/German made DMM

I bought this mainly for servicing my bike, chasing bad bottoms and stray drains etc. In this price range I don't think there is the best digital multimeter . It's not Fluke build quality, but it's close. To get a US-made True RMS Fluke that has all the features of an Amprobe, you'll have to spend a little more money. This meter has specific settings for DC Voltage and Amps (milli and micro). It has a really nice backlit display with 6000 counts. It is large and clear, making it easy to read…

I'm just a guy who knows a little about electronics. I was looking for a bigger car but this one seemed normal to me. This turned out to be very good for me. It's weighted enough so you know you're holding it. It feels solid in hand. It has many features that I hope to use half of one day. It has a large display that is easy for me to read and an analog display under the digital display. The wireless AC voltage display is convenient but a bit awkward to use. The accessories appear to be well…

It has everything except the kitchen sink!

This multimeter is awesome! The autorange response is instantaneous and the LCD has a well-optimized viewing angle. I've taken it apart and the gauge components are reasonably high quality, but the surface soldering is a little crusty in a few spots for convenience. I found use for most of the functions but found that the non-contact voltage detection is a bit inconvenient, the NCV receiver cannot be held close enough to the power source to alert the meter. The build quality of the case is…

Problems with NCV and Temperature settings

I really wanted to like this gauge because I've always respected the Amprobe for years, but it's having problems, particularly with the NCV setting. I thought it was a defect in the first one but ordered a second one with the same problem. The manual shows that some sort of AC voltage should appear on the NCV until it is found to be over 90 volts. At this point "OL" will be displayed. Both I tried showed "OL" all the time (even with no voltage). The beep seemed to work on the NCV when it…

Great meter - great value for money

I gathered a lot of information before purchasing this particular meter. My actual focus at work will be electronics and car repairs. What attracted me to the AM-570 is the dual temperature sensor function, LoZ function, 60MHz frequency counter and dual display. The 60MHz frequency counter is the highest of any mid-range or even more professional meter I could find. Most only reach 1-20 MHz. The double display is actually very practical, for example when reading analog sensors, you can see the…

  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Lots of useful features but some drawbacks

This multimeter seems to measure all normal voltage, resistance and current values quite well, so I won't describe it. So if speed is important, you can preset the range. It took 15 seconds for the 5000uF capacitor, but it may have had to discharge some of the residual charge. When measuring frequency, the noise from the probe connector can drive the meter to a higher range (lower resolution), so the AC line can sometimes read 59.99 Hz and sometimes 059.9 Hz. No meter problem, just life. The…

Excellent quality meter for the price - apart from a few serious flaws

Just a word of warning, I'm an electrical engineer. I have a standard Fluke 87V workhorse on my desktop and I really like it. However, it is quite expensive. My cheap $35 RS-DMM for home electrician hobby and odd jobs finally broke after 16 years. So I wanted to buy a fairly good quality gauge that didn't cost as much as the Flukes. I probably spent about 8 hours at times going through various DMM specs, user guides, and product reviews to find one that had all the features I wanted, had pretty
