Devices Without Surge Protectors, Manufacturer Didn't Respond

I bought this surge protector in 2015 and one of the reasons I chose it was the lifetime protection up to $100,000. We had a thunderstorm last week and now all the devices I have connected to the surge protector are not working including the TV I just bought in December. Last Wednesday I went to the manufacturer's website and submitted an application with all the information about the surge protector. The automated reply I received with the case number promised a response within 2 business…

BEWARE! Firewall ports ONLY 10/100!

Excellent surge protection, plenty of room for different plug types, no terrible feature (smart power save mode) that many surge protectors have, long cable and flush/right angle plug. What ruined this network filter for me was the RJ45 security ports. I bought this surge protector because we have a computer that keeps losing its network port. Our network layout is full gigabit (1000Mbps) and the RJ45 security ports only offer 10/100 bandwidth. What a HORRIBLE design mistake, especially in…

Great protection for the price.

I didn't like anything about it. It has 4 transformer block sockets, well spaced from each other, which is very convenient. There are also 4 normal connectors. Each socket has a sliding plastic piece that you can use to cover unused sockets, protecting small children from falling into the socket. And it features coaxial input and output to protect against surges or surges flowing through your cable line. It has a telephone/fax/modem input and output to protect these devices. It comes with a…

Saved by a massive splash!

I bought several of these about a year ago. Hooked them up and they worked great. About two or three weeks ago, the power company replaced a huge transformer on church grounds. The transformer was the size of my car! So the entire church campus was shut down during the exchange, when they turned the power back on, strange things started happening to the electrical system. Appliances started to burn out, fluorescent lights hummed very loudly, etc. VERY QUICKLY it turned out that they had the…

Invalid data flush with coax AND NO data passes through Ethernet Protector

This particular surge protector was chosen because it was said to protect the incoming coax and the ethernet cable going to the modem. Without any surge protection, I'm getting 160Mbps from my router. When I connect the ethernet cable. And Ethernet only. My modem doesn't even work. Therefore, I reject Ethernet and only check the protection of the coaxial cable. This reduces the data rate from the base 160 Mbit/s to 20 Mbit/s. This is clearly unacceptable. Thinking the item was faulty I…

The brand has won my favor

The brand has won my favor. They bring me back to the 90's. I found one with more joule protection but settled on this one. This gives me more information about what's wrong with the outlet, reverse polarity, etc. It's good when I use it in another house. The sockets also have built-in child and sneeze protection. I liked the cable and (I think some people still use fax lines) phone line protection. I don't like that the cable is limited to a flat 360 degree rotation, but I know this is to…

I own this product, but US Department of Energy policy recommends that this product be the last line of defense. Many people think that a surge protector prevents electronics from burning out due to a nearby or direct lightning strike. 3 km of atmosphere did not protect from a lightning strike, and do you think that a couple of millimeters will protect diodes?! NO! What protects against these shocks is the grounding of the house. For this reason, it's important to use a whole-house surge…

Just a month after purchase and it has already paid for itself.

What made me purchase this product was a lightning strike that burned thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Technically, my ISP was hit and the surge went down the DSL phone line to my modem, then to my router, then to my wired camera system, and then through an HDMI NVR cable (among other things) to my TV. Apparently I had no protection on the DSL line at that moment. When I was looking for a replacement surge protector, I bought one with DSL/phone protection. A month later I was beaten…
