Good monitor: my rating

I've had this monitor for almost a year. Haven't had any issues so far but wish this was advertised as hrd as it doesn't hit that high brightness. Don't get me wrong, it's light.

HDR not working: my review

We understand that most modern PC monitors don't have true HDR. But if you want to make a monitor with HDR capability, you need to make sure it works. HDR does not work on this monitor. ASUS has confirmed that the PG329Q has a built-in feature that dims the brightness after HDR has been enabled for an hour. You can turn it on manually and it will run for about an hour, but then dim again. You don't have to take my word for it, do a quick google search and see how many people are having the…

Pretty good, but HDR doesn't live up to expectations

This model met my expectations for the most part, but I would rate it as average. Most items in the box are as advertised. The point that really brings this down to 3 stars out of a possible 5 stars in the 32-inch IPS 1440 category is that with Windows HDR enabled, the monitor dims after a few minutes of use. Asus claims this works properly if you're on the monitor for a long period of time (5-10 minutes in my experience). Once a monitor gets darker it becomes very difficult to use and you have

Good but not great.

I bought this monitor mainly for ELMB. Unfortunately, that's not very good. It's very fast and clears up the image well, but it's too dark and there's no way to change the brightness. I also think 1440p is not enough for a 32 inch monitor. It should be 4K. Pixels are very noticeable and text is very blurry. I can't manage 4K so I didn't order it, I thought 1440p would be good but it's not. Otherwise the picture quality is good, HDR is good. Build quality is good for $700, but not amazing.

Don't buy if HDR is important to you

This monitor's HDR mode is designed, and ASUS Support has repeatedly confirmed that it is designed to turn off automatically after 60-90 minutes (time varies, but is always within this range). In their own words, this is done to extend the life of the monitor; the tacit admission that if this wasn't built into the monitor and couldn't be turned off, having HDR on all the time would drastically reduce the life of the monitor. Pretty annoying bait and switch from ASUS. But even without HDR, the…

Not as expected in my opinion

It's as bad as an IPS panel, I thought the colors, shadows and depth of darkness were great BUT that's not the case with this monitor. You can skip this one and find another gaming monitor (auto dimming flickering issues)
