I love my ASUS external USB optical drive. It's extremely portable and fully powered by USB ports, which is an absolute must-have for portable external drives. No need to search for outlets. To do this, it is connected to the computer via two USB ports. It also works well when shaken, which is often necessary when traveling. It's thin enough to fit in the side pocket of my neoprene carrying case for my Eee netbook. When mounting on a table, a stand is supplied, but of course it is not required.

It looks good and works great. I've used it on a Lenovo XP laptop, a three year old ASUS XP base system, a brand new Mini Jetway barebones running Linux, and a Dell Vista system.
