I bought this shredder and was not very happy with the jammed paper. I tried turning the paper over, turning off the shredder, unplugging and trying to pull the paper out between them, nothing worked. I called support and they told me to put some oil on the blades, let it sit for 20 minutes and then try to push the jammed paper through with a piece of cardboard or a butter knife. Bought this shredder 4 years ago and it still works. Granted, I don't use it every day, but it's seen mountains of junk mail, old credit cards, documents, etc. over the years, and I've never had a problem that the back button can't easily solve (and I don't have to pressed very often). When I first used it, I didn't think it was bad. Then I decided to tear up some tax information and the paper crumpled on the sides (both sides). There's no release for it, so if the back doesn't move, there's no way to pull the paper out. I contacted Aurora via email, they called me within half an hour (very impressive) and told me to put in a tablespoon. Stick vegetable oil on the paper and wait 30 minutes. I'm surprised. This works very well. It gobbled up my entire quarterly paper shredding batch with no problems and never stopped short of thermal overload. I'm pleasantly surprised that I've had a lot of problems with choppers in the past. It should be remembered that since the sheets of paper are folded into an envelope, each sheet actually has three thicknesses. So 2 sheets are 6.
