⚡️ AVR Automatic Voltage Regulator Rectifier for 5KW-8.5KW Generators Review

Wrong part. The cross reference information is wrong so now I have a useless AVR. I will not send it back because it would cost me even more.

The bolt/yoke swap worked well. Except for unmarked brush terminals. There was a 50/50 chance of a proper connection and whoops, no way out. Checked with voltmeter and swapped blue/yellow. blue + . 117 VAC and 234 VAC with no load. 110 and 220 loaded. My only concern is the lack of a heatsink on the power transistor. One square inch of thin aluminum should do the trick.

The first AVR came with a large capacitor on the back that was mounted askew so it bumped against the alternator housing and could not be screwed into the housing. I figured it was probably a manufacturing defect and an accident so I ordered the same item as a replacement and I was right the replacement was assembled correctly. Please note: The blue wire is + and is installed on the left side of the brushes, the terminal is closest to the anchor. Unfortunately the voltage setting was far away…
