Doesn't do what it promises!

It says it keeps your factory DVD and steering wheel controls but it doesn't. A descriptive wiring guide for aftermarket radios was absent. Bought because the store where I bought the radio recommended it and it was a mistake.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only

Great product - way better than PAC in my opinion.

Does exactly what you want. I had a bit of an issue because I didn't have half of the seat belt and Revane refused to accept a refund but kudos to Metra for coming over and getting me the missing parts. Meter's support is excellent. This was installed in a 2004 Suburban and it logged my calls and allowed the rear entertainment audio to pass through my new head unit. Works as requested and installation was easy after the missing parts were supplied.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Stay away!: Audio-video installation in the car

This is junk. Find an alternative! It only got a second star because it's pretty easy to connect and install and the sound comes through. I ordered this for its ability to retain GM features like the horn and rear seat entertainment. It's actually decently more expensive than one that doesn't retain any rear-seat entertainment features. It was wasted money because with the DVD in the RSE player it can't decipher that and the factory satellite radio plays both at the same time. I could live with

Pros
  • Elegant design

  • Long delivery time

NOT THAT COOL Product

This unit worked in my 2005 GMC Yukon SLT. nearly. I had two of these (returned for another). This allowed the use of sound, calls and Onstar. It also produced a hissing noise in my speakers that could be heard between tracks and especially in the AUX, and it was NOT working to play the DVD sound in the back seat through the new radio. The rear DVD plays VERY low audio (with lots of hissing that gets louder as the volume is turned up) unless a factory radio was installed. It is clear that some…
