This is my 3rd cassette player from them in the last 5 years. I tend to be a little rough with them, but they fail. I have a problem with battery life, they lose memory very quickly and for the price I just buy all new radios.

Update: I was sent a replacement radio but it didn't work well, couldn't even contact the local repeater near me that the previous radio could reach but had a port problem. I tried 3 of these radios and they were all sent back. 1 was powerful but had port issues, the other two didn't seem to deliver anywhere near 8W.

Transmission audio is very quiet, much quieter than my 8 year old uv5+, that will probably come back. It's also very annoying to bring back the low transmit audio and include it in the base charger, no better than the $20 version, now they've made it hard to return! I can't use the UPS QR code and need to print or order a label upon delivery. I don't have a printer. Buyers beware of Caviot Emptor.

This radio is not easy to program. I'm not sure why. We ended up programming it manually, but we can't send a 911 transmission to our district, but we can hear our department's pages. The battery stays with us for 2-3 days before it is completely empty. Has a flawless and loud sound. I like the quality with a thinner antenna reach. The only downside to the antenna is that it bends very easily.

Not so easy to program. I got the programming cable and used the Chirp software and the radio was programmed in no time. You need the right cable, so read the specs before you buy. I bought a 7.4 volt 3800 mAh battery for continuous use. Model BL-5L. The antenna is not bad but not as good as the high gain HT antenna. If you have an antenna with a BNC connector, you need a SMA socket and a BNC connector.

I really like these radios. I used to have a GT-5TP and the battery eventually died and I found that there was no spare battery for that one (seems to be the only one) so next I bought the GT-3TP. Like the features, duel groups, triple shift strengths. And the customer service is second to none (there was a problem with the antenna which was fixed immediately, thanks Nora!). All in all a great radio and great customer experience for a hobbyist like me.

It works better than my average "32 mile" range, the average range is actually 2.8 miles across corn fields with a few trees. I was able to get a clear signal a half mile away with no play and sat in my truck with the antenna out the window. so some glitches. So far I have used FRS/GMRS stations. Now that the radio is working, I will make an appointment for the Ham Radio Technician license exam. It allows me to reach my kids at school almost 5 miles away. I give this radio a high rating because I bought another one. So much so that I wished for a second GT-3TP. When it arrived there was NO radio or battery in the box. Everything else was in the box. But I have no idea what happened to the radio. Revain, whatever they were, gave me my money back. I will order the same radio later.
