🔧 High-performance Air Door Actuator Gear Rebuild Kit for GM Blend/Mode (Chevy, GMC, and more 1990-2013) Review

Ordered this for my 2001 GMC Yukon because it blows hot air out of the dash. I removed the cover from the faucet damper drive and the gear broke. This replacement was a perfect fit, went smoothly and fixed the problem. Now I have cold air again :)

Original equipment not torn but serrations torn off. The air will be as hot as possible no matter where I choose the setting. The hardest part was removing the large cover over the plank. Just center the faucet and center the temperature controller before installation.

GM Blend/Mode Air Door Actuators are really well designed and GM is designed to last the life of the car but the original gear box breaks that fixes it problem i have. I took it out and disassembled it, but I put it out of service so it's a bit more complicated than just plugging one part into another. I think if I had had more foresight it would have gone well.

The gears looked good but the drive gears were fine so I replaced the entire drives. I used genuine Dorman drives, not cheap ones. money well spent. I've seen reviews of these replacement gears that also had cracks. I have a c5 corvette and they need to be reached and replaced. Dormans are upgraded with a solid gear/shaft. Fixed problem on my 98 Regal GS. There was no heater on the driver's side and I knew it was a problem with the door. The swap was easy, but there are a few things to note. Before removing, first note where the spindle is located on the engine block. If like me you forgot it, check out how to calibrate it. Used in Mercedes ML320 Mixed Door Operator. Installation was easy, removing the entire dash to reveal the drive. The frustrating part was reconfiguring the gears to keep the drivetrain in its full range of motion, but that has nothing to do with this part. Do not move more than necessary. If the wheel is too tight, which it should be, soak it in hot tap water for 5 minutes and tap it out. If necessary, use a small socket and a light tap of a hammer. Don't grind! This transmission has a front and a bottom. Follow the instructions or be careful when disassembling. Make sure to lubricate with the lube provided, but don't overdo it.
