Yes. not in Table Saw Accessories

I used to make a few zero gap inserts, but if you've done it before you know how excruciating it can be to get everything perfectly lined up. I saw this and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately thin plastic. Spring. thin plastic. It doesn't get any better if you loosen the supports by cutting through a couple of them to make a slot for the blade. I will say it will probably be good for cutting large pieces that don't depend on the split plate. to provide a base for the part to be cut out…

Not what you think.

Not good! look elsewhere As most reviews say the piece flexes and bends making this insert dangerous to use. Easy enough to install (never could level) and then it went downhill. With all the play in the freshly cut groove, the carbide teeth of the saw blade continue to engage in the groove and deform the groove without play. Eventually you'd think it would "work by itself", but I literally just cut a piece off (7th cut with insert inserted) and twisted the blade off and the teeth caught the…

Plastic junk for power tool parts and accessories

I knew it was plastic when I ordered it but since I was only planning to cut some sheets of plywood and rip off the 1 inch paneling I didn't think about it that plastic would have made a difference - I wasn't planning on heavy use. But a few minutes after trying to cut and trim the panels, the plastic was already chewed up. Next the insert flexes and shifts so that it rubs against the blade and rolls the gap of the cutout in the insert. It's also difficult to mount it on a table if you plan to…

Weak! Kills all hope of precise cuts

I bought this insert a few years ago when I bought a new Bosch table saw but only recently used it for the first time. I am very disappointed to say the least. There are a few nice features - it fits perfectly in the hole in the worktop and it has leveling set screws in each corner that rest against small burrs in the saw. However, upon use, it becomes clear that the thing is basically garbage. It's too damn stupid. Even with light pressure, it flexes enough to cause a serious cut. All the…

Zero Gap Insert Improves Table Saw Results

I'm a big fan of zero gap inserts. They really improve the haircut results. This deployment works well. I love the adjustment screws on the Bosch TS1005. You make a zero gap cut the normal way, placing a new insert when the blade is fully folded under the table and then slowly raising the blade as it runs to make a cut into the zero gap -to make use of. Initial installation takes five minutes, including fiddling with adjustment screws so they fit perfectly on your desk. This insert is made of…
