The bird loves it but the design could be improved

My budgie loves this food ball. It's literally her favorite toy. In the morning I load it with shredded paper and avicakes, and she tears them off for hours. My only suggestion is to change the way the ball is attached to the bar. It is currently attached with a union nut directly above the ball nut. It often happens that my bird grabs and pushes the ball when feeding. Sometimes, by sheer coincidence, she turns the ball counter-clockwise and slowly but surely loosens the nut bit by bit until…

Perfect in theory, but depends on your bird -

My parrot says "I". He's not happy. But then again, he's a hobbyhorse in the mud, he has certain toys that he's obsessed with and this is NONE of them, although I put his favorite treats in them. Or maybe he's just lazy? Because he knows that at some point during the day he will get a treat or two right out of my hand. I think it's better if I'm within range. He can be very irritable when angry and will not hesitate to bite me if I am within range and not paying attention. Thankless wretch…

Quaker parrot very interested - need bigger treats

I've been keeping this in my Quaker cage for 2 days now and he seems to like it. Slot more than I thought and I have to buy big goodies to get in. I have medium treats (like seeds) for my average bird and they just fall to the bottom of the cage when he's playing. This applies to larger birds such as gray parrots, cockatoos or macaws. But on the other hand, my Quaker isn't smart enough to screw things up yet, so maybe he gets more play time than the bigger/smarter birds. The treat was easy to…

Buy back for backup

Our Red-bellied Parrots were rescued from a neglected environment where they were kept for 9 years. Many foraging systems have failed because they don't know what to do with toys and therefore need a quick positive response to their first attempts. This strict ball is perfect for her. It intrigued them enough to entice them to try it (after many days of study), and it was easy enough that they were successful almost immediately. The product turned out to be strong enough to withstand the…

Not very good. on Feeders

Bought for a kennel. Everything would be fine, but there are some problems. It hangs at the top of the cage and slots are at the bottom. This allows food to fall out of the floor easily. Because it's designed for small to medium-sized birds, it's not ideal. You can probably put some dried fruit in it and you'll be fine. The chain he's hanging on is too long. You need a very tall cage to use this toy effectively. The last problem is that it is very difficult to clean. Cannot be completely…

Thank you I LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. This is the first toy "ball of food" I've seen made for a bird larger than a parrot. If you have a big bird, take a toy! Your bird will love it! I passed this on to "Shelby" (Big Cockatoo) about three months ago. Despite the fact that this "ball" was badly damaged by my feathered friend, it's quite durable. It holds, only a small parrot bell and tiny wooden blocks are missing. My bird figured out how to open it in 15 minutes, swiped the treats and
