🔪 DEWALT DWA4220: Efficient Fast Cutting Oscillating Tool Blade for Grout Removal Review

This blade is 1/8 inch thick and works incredibly well on very hard grout. I've tried both expensive ($34) and cheap ($4) blades. carbide and diamond. The project I'm working on has a very hard grout. On earlier blades, the abrasive bond will wear down to bare metal after 10-30 minutes of use. This blade can last hours before I have to replace it. It also wears away material much faster, making work faster.

This is a terrible product and broke within the first hour of use. That's the problem. Although it looks like one piece like all other similar tips I've used in the past, it's actually two pieces. act like a kind of rivet. The two parts started separating, and then the whole nozzle became unusable. I don't think it's a two piece issue as other brands seem to be two pieces too, it seems like they're connected that way. Nice thing: I'm returning it via Revain.

If you need to remove grout then these blades are for you. Of course, you also need a multifunctional tool. Use at minimum speed. Excellent for GROUND grout in joints 1/4" or larger. Today this blade easily removed 1/4 inch grout lines on 54ft of floor tile. The tool used was a Dremel Multimax at speed 6. The old grout I removed was about 1/2 inch deep between the tiles. I made about 4 passes to get to the grout layer between the tiles and vacuumed as I worked. I was able to remove grout from all sides of 18" floor tiles in about 5 minutes each.
