Broke after 1 day of use

Unfortunately, this flower bulb pot broke within 1 day in the garden. We have clay soil but we added a lot of topsoil so I figured this bulb planter would handle that. After digging about 10 holes, he bent and the spring in the handle popped out. Tried to fix it - to no avail. I'm trying to get a refund from the company :/

Planting was easy.

Planted 30 tulip bulbs in 24 minutes yesterday, net included. It worked properly and held dirt well. Note that the depth is only 4 inches. My tulips needed six inches so I had to push them a little below the surface of the dirt. This wasn't a problem for me but should be considered if you have bulbs that need to be planted deeper.

Flower bulbs for quick planting

This makes planting the bulbs much easier and cleaner than with a shovel. You just click where you want to plant the bulb with a twist. You pull out the mud tube that the planter holds ready for you. Insert the bulb, loosen the dirt with thumb pressure, step on it to pack it back up, and voila, you're done, and even your mulch on it is still in place.

Changed my gardening life!

I have mobility problems, but I still enjoy working in the garden. This summer I planted SPRING bulbs for the first time - last year I planted autumn bulbs - and I used my new flower bulb planter. My garden life! So much faster and less stressful on my body for a number of reasons. Why didn't I buy this many years ago?! I also only use it to make holes for other plantings. This fall we'll see if you have a bigger hole for my big bulbs. Very pleased with the strength and ease of loosening theโ€ฆ

A strong tool but does not hold the ground well. READ

To be honest this didn't work for me. I thought it would be a super tool for planting bulbs, but ended up using a small hoe. This works fine for indenting the ground and indenting in a circle BUT "grab part of the ground" doesn't work. still fails. This may be user error as it requires a strong hand to press. You can get depth, but the bottom doesn't stay in the tool, at least for me. For a low price I save myself the annoying return shipping. The instrument itself seems sturdy, so I have noโ€ฆ

Good bulb planter but didn't work for me

I have read many different reviews that this bulb planter was strong enough or not strong enough and after trying to use it myself I would say that he would be really great for planting in raised beds or plowed beds. I tried using it in the soil around my house and it worked fine for the top 3-4 inches, but once it reached the clay it wouldn't go any further. There just wasn't enough leverage to go down a full 6 inches to plant the bulbs in hard soil and I hand dug all the holes anyway. For the

Superb bulb planter

I used this bulb planter for the first time in the first week of December 2018. It's true, I live in Washington state and we don't get cold that often; However, that day the temperature when planting was below 30 and the night temperature was above 20. This tool was great. I've used similar tools in the past and they buckled into the ground under the weight of my pushing; this one didn't. Despite the fact that I had to put all my weight on the tool to cut the surface of the ground, the bulbโ€ฆ

Bulb Planter Edward Tools (Landscaper's Choice): After actually discarding my old handmade bulb planter last fall when I naturalized the daffodils in fairly stable forest soil (roots, clay and some rocks). I had to get a replacement. I prefer models where the bulb pot can be opened/extended to allow the excavated soil to flow out easily. This bulb planter looks pretty solid and I had no trouble digging bulb holes, although you'll need some wrist and arm strength if the ground is hard andโ€ฆ
