Worktop and tile paint test

I recently renovated both bathrooms in an apartment building. The first time I used ArmoGlaze and the second time I used Ekopel after reading all the reviews and saying that this is the best bathtub finishing product on the market. I prepared both baths the same way. Ekopel left a streaky, horrible finish. On the bathtub I used ArmoGlaze and I even had to use epoxy to repair spalling in the bathtub prior to coating. Undoubtedly the ArmoGlaze finish is excellent so don't believe everything you…

Don't freak out! And do not touch

The goods arrived yesterday. Last night when I got home I started the prep work. Use a sander to sand away chips and rust and flush the tub with toilet cleaner. I sealed everything with tape and waited until this morning to use the product. I was a little scared that I would water so quickly, but I did. If you watch YouTube videos a few times, you'll know what to do. I walked around the overflow but it doesn't matter compared to the rest of the tub which came out spotless. A vet who had a hard…

Try this before you buy a new bathtub!

I built rental cars in the early 1960's. These are short tubs that are made to order, apart from being difficult to get off the blocks and replace without spending a lot of money. I searched the internet for a working product and found Ekopel. I didn't test Revain first because it's made in Armenia. Set up a company for the first order. There is a contractor on YouTube who has several videos on the application that are much better than the manufacturer's, one is about 30 minutes long. I figured

Difficult even for an experienced master!

I'm a property manager and a very experienced DIY enthusiast and I have to say this has been one of the most challenging projects I've taken on in the last few years. On a scale of difficulty from 1 to 10 for a DIYer I would give it a 9.- There are no instructions in the product but after finding them online and watching YouTube for an hour I thought I had prep and taken gluing the tub and the surrounding area for more than two hours.- Applying Ekopel requires you to bend awkwardly over the tub

Great product but be prepared and watch plenty of youtube before trying.

This is my third time repainting this tub and hopefully the last time. This product is unlike any other product I have used before. I'm happy with the result, although I could have done better if I watched more YouTube videos and got some tips that I was missing when taking a bath. I would advise the seller to include instructions. Simply providing a website is not enough. Check out the videos posted by individuals check out mine. I made a lot of mistakes that could have been avoided if I had…

This is a great product.

Six years ago we had our bucket painted by a "professional" and had problems with the paint peeling off from the start. Over the years I've used $20 bathroom repair kits available at Home Depot to touch up loose stains. I applied it with a brush and it looked lousy, but when the company came along we sanded and painted the bald spots and hoped they wouldn't notice. We ended up getting tired of looking at it and decided to just replace the tub and surrounding tiled walls. The first offer we…

I screwed it up and my bathtub still looks great.

I'm just going to swallow my pride and admit that I've made just about every clumsy amateur mistake I could make. My bathroom still looks great. I hope you learn from my mistakes. Renovating a bathtub is not an easy task for do-it-yourselfers. The amount of prep work that goes into it is no joke. I probably spent 3 hours cleaning the tub, sanding it, removing sealant, and removing drains and fixtures. My tub was 40 years old so the tub drain was pretty stubborn to get out. Three trips to Home…

Disappointing results, short lifespan, no customer service

This kit was purchased at a bathroom renovation to finish off an old ceramic coated cast iron kitchen sink. The sink was originally sanded and rust or chips have been repaired with JB Weld and sanded smooth. After the sanding was complete, the sink was fully degreased and twice thoroughly wiped with the toilet cleaner recommended in bathroom products to ensure no extra grease or scum was left on the sink. He was allowed to preheat for 10 hours until his temperature also reached 75°F. The…
