This is an adorable pajama set at such a great price! The shirt hugged his body a little and he was quite thin. I always try to order a little bigger so it has room to grow. But the matching pants fit exactly as expected. So it all depends on what shape you want for your baby. If I had to do it again I would buy a size up. Judging by the picture I was hoping that they would fit a 12 year old boy very well. He's a little smaller and lighter than the average boy, so I bought him a size down (10). BIG MISTAKE! They fit so tight I can't believe an 8 year old could fit comfortably in them. I plan to return them but for now I bought him a size 12. And yet they are too small!
