🚿 Chrome Pin Mount Swivel Connector for Handshower - Delta Faucet U4002-PK Review

I used to have one under a different name. Don't remember the name. Anyway it broke after about 5 years and I bought this new one. So far so good, does what it's supposed to, no problem. I hang my head. It is simply installed between the hose and the shower handle without any special tools. By the way, there is another part that has a pin that fits in the hole. I did not have to replace this part.

They no longer sell this part at hardware stores near me. I'm so glad they're online! I have an old handicap shower that uses this part. The problem is that over time the plastic part becomes brittle and breaks. Mine has lasted an average of 3 years under heavy use and insane temperature swings. I ended up buying a few just in case. It's actually a cheap and easy to replace part if you can find it, and it does its job quite well.

The plastic swivel broke after about 2 months of use. The Delta helpdesk could not identify any replacement plastic hinges and recommended that I repurchase the entire unit (I declined). Looking back, I would look for another device that didn't include a plastic swivel. The piece fits onto the swivel but remains tightened onto the pin. I bought three plastic plugs to have two spares in case the unit breaks again. It would be nice if Delta made the part with higher pin tolerances.

I can only imagine this is a 20-30 year old version of this item starting to crack. You want it if you already have it and are happy with it. While it may seem similar to what it was meant to replace, it's not exactly the same. This wouldn't be a problem, but you can't customize this at all. When you loosen the screw that connects the main body to the hinge, it still doesn't fit, it just falls apart. The one with the metal loop (U5002-PK), which I also got here at Revain, solves this problem…
