It sucks - and NOT the way it should be

The product just didn't work. Unfortunately I didn't have to use it before the return deadline, so I couldn't return it. It seems to me that my 2 year old grandson can suck out more liquid through a straw than this "pump". The price is attractive --- but in this case I think you get LESS than what you paid for. My Opinion: DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works best as intended in water pumps, parts and accessories

I had to empty my tub when the drain stopped working. No drill could penetrate the deposits, so I devised an alternative solution: a closed-system suction pump using this device. It drains a full bath in about 5 minutes at a moderate speed. You need to prime the pump by releasing air from the system then it will work. Do not press the drill head against the workpiece, otherwise the plastic will heat up due to the friction when turning. There is nothing to complain about in terms of quality and…

  • Great price

  • boring packaging

It works. just not very good

The amount of water moved by this is negligible. The current is not very strong and not big. Use a drill press instead of a battery powered drill as it works better. I found it easier and quicker to go back and use the bucket I was planning to replace with this one. But I could move a lot more in 3 minutes with a bucket than in 10 minutes with this pump. This can work well as part of indoor hydroponics. but otherwise it's weak for any serious work.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Work to fuel it. Would I buy again

I had to put a 30 gallon drum of oil into smaller containers. I went to the hardware store and bought hose adapters and some hoses. The oil didn't pull up and out of the drum until I had almost filled the inlet hose with oil. After that I drained the oil fairly quickly. So I would say if what you pump up isn't higher than what you start with then it's not self-priming. For the money it was a win. It couldn't be cheaper. Even if it goes wrong tomorrow, it saved me a lot of time.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Small parts

Great price

I needed a way to fill the 10 gallon water tank on my overhead solar water heater near the ceiling. This helped even though I was rocking vertically (Β± 6 feet). The fittings on either end are standard garden hose fittings (I used an inexpensive pair of hoses from a washing machine). We filled the tank in a few minutes. Keep in mind that it requires two hands to use, one holding the drill and the other holding the pump to keep the whole assembly from spinning. As a result, neither the inlet nor…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

180 GPH @ 1500 RPM on Electric Water Pumps

There is a difference in flow rate between drill speed settings. The specification provided is "up to" 225 gph and a "minimum drilling speed" of 1200 rpm. Pumping water onto a flat platform with a six foot inlet hose and a 25 foot outlet hose gives me 80 gallons per hour (1 gallon every 45 seconds) on my Ryobi 18v battery at a max speed of 600rpm/ Similarly, I'm getting 180 GPH (1 gallon every 20 seconds) with my Makita BDF452 18V at 1500 RPM max. I don't have a faster drill so I can't tell…
