Jumper Wires on Breadboard -- Resolved by Freenove Customer Service

I spent many hours troubleshooting and costing to replace the IC before realizing that most of the short black jumper wires were open, apparently bad crimped contacts. UPDATE 07/11/2018: Freenove contacted me immediately and apologized for the bad jumpers. They also refunded me for some extra spare chips I bought while trying to fix a bad jumper problem (I thought the chip was bad but in fact some of my chip bases were open). Anyway, despite the bad cables, I've had a lot of fun plugging…

Broken key component. Low quality.

I'm a total novice when it comes to Raspberry Pi and circuits, but know a little about Python programming. The first project in the tutorial is a blinking LED. After trying to get it to work and failing, I started searching and troubleshooting online and finally found out that the 40-pin GPIO cable wasn't working (I ran wires from the end of the cable to the breadboard and it didn't work , but when I ran the wires from the RPI straight to the breadboard everything worked After several projects…

Great price to add to your Raspberry Pi

I ordered several of these devices for my class to use with our Raspberry Pi studio. The selection and quality of the components is excellent. Sensors, motor, stepper motor and servo with bracket, large LCD display, battery connectors and all buttons, switches and LEDs are much needed in such a compact package. There are quite a few resistors, capacitors and transistors, although not as many as in other packages. Interesting packaging reflects how much is packed in a beautiful box with details.

Great value for money, good documentation

This is great value for money and I'm happy to be tested in the laboratory. Connect an external 5V power supply, multiple ADC/DAC ICs, a 16x2 character display, 3 potentiometers, a joystick, a sonar range finder, 2 motors, and lots of LEDs and buttons. You get a 4-digit LED display, an LED matrix and an LED bar graph. There is enough hardware here to build a small MIDI instrument, which I intend to do with it to learn the Raspberry Pi. The tutorial document is nearly 300 pages long and takes…

Intermittent Performance

I was glad to get this to learn about electronics but it was very frustrating. The textbooks are obviously written by someone who is not a native English speaker. I'm happier going to youtube to find out how it works. I was expecting a guide on how to start over since I didn't know anything about breadboards, jumpers, etc. But eventually my LED blinked. Then I tried to get the button to work. Vain. Went back to the simplified blink program and felt like I finally got the basics down. got it…

  • Single Board Computer
Cons
  • I will add later

I am new to this business. I've never programmed or built circuits for anything in my life, but I've wanted to try it for a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger on a kit like this to test the waters. fiddled with it for hours and read a few chapters of the tutorial. These types of projects might look like ABC to anyone with a little programming or circuitry experience, but to me it's like Chinese math. started right away. This is not the case and I don't blame the seller as he…
