Great for occasional use.

I bought this unit to prototype an irrigation system for a double grow tent. It pumps both regular water and fish manure very well. No issues pulling the head out and it's so quiet I have to check for water flow to make sure it's on. Operate it on a 5VDC USB cable. It pumps about 4 cups per minute through a split tee to two round drippers around the stems.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Clarity

Why doesn't it have spiked armor? The hose just slips off.

I really can't explain why this pump doesn't have barbed connectors. The hose I use just slips off. I'm trying to secure it with JB Weld but it's almost impossible to keep it in place. It would be great if it had spiked fittings. Instead, it's practically useless.

Pros
  • Very impressive

DIY Aqualift: Aquarium Pumps and Filters

This was the solution to the TOMS Aqualifter dirt problem! If you are tired of buying Aqualifts for your aquariums or have a HOB overflow then you know what I am talking about. Stop giving money to Tom and just buy one of these and a 12 volt phone charger. Cut the end of the MSB and attach the cut end to this device. Not only does it work, it works better than TOM Aqualifter! Very satisfied!

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Speed of Operation

Internal leak after 10 days

UPDATE: Pump swap started leaking even after 12 days of use. I've been using this pump continuously for about 10 days now. It had an internal leak today where I was getting about 2-3 drips per second. Luckily I noticed this early enough and was able to clean up the mess. I took the pump apart and noticed that water was leaking out where it wasn't even supposed to be. I checked for obvious signs of leaks but didn't notice. nothing to my untrained eye. In any case, I do not recommend this product

FICTION! for aquarium pumps and filters

This pump worked PERFECTLY right away. I'm using it with an Arduino for a small do-it-yourself irrigation system. I've bought other pumps in the past that worked but seemed to struggle. This pump has a high head, I have 3/8" OD tubing that connects to a small 1/4" OD tube that goes to a water jug. It transfers water easily and is actually very quiet! I bought 2 to prototype and experiment with but they sold me out. I will be ordering more very soon. From other reviews I've seen it says it's not

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Frequency

Great pump. Feel free to eat with liquids until it dies

I got this pump working on my 3D printer which I upgraded to water cooling. Very quiet. I have to look at the vent on the side to see the stator spinning inside to make sure it works. It only worked for me at 3V without a break. Self-inflating so you don't have to worry as much about an air pocket preventing function as with some other designs. Although it can also pump air, it makes a horrible whistling sound. There are other pumps that work better with air. Update 05/10/2019 So after using…

Suitable for aquarium

Bought two. One is used for the Ato pump. For that it works very well. I used a 6v power supply to reduce the flow rate on both. The other is used on the hob overflow to service the siphon. They are very quiet in use. The little noise they make blends in with the rest of the noise in the aquarium. I connect a piece of 5/16 latex tubing to it. It stays very well connected to the pump ports. One star deducted due to lack of contact at the pump. If it had spikes it would be 5 stars. I've had them…

UPDATED DESCRIPTION and Kicka$$ customer service.

I have updated my review based on 2 important factors: #1: The seller's customer service was exceptional! #2: The seller FAST updated the product description, removed any mention of aquarium use AND noted that this device is not intended for long-term use and is intended for product prototyping, not industrial use. Okay, now for the updated review (previous ones at the end of this section) PRO's: - Powerful engine, definitely self-priming (at least in reasonable conditions) - Quiet! Especially…
