A good monocular for use with a phone.

I have a field in my backyard that borders a forest. I see all kinds of animals and things there. I usually use binoculars, but I decided to try these as well. Body wise they seem well built and on par with my Vanguard Endeavor ED 10x42 binoculars. I don't like the strap and pad. I couldn't get it to work well and the pillow didn't feel secure. There is a tripod mount. What probably surprised me the most was the included phone mount. This works very well. I've tried photographing things in the…

Great handheld scope

Easy to use, less bulky than binoculars and once you set it up you won't miss another run. thin and attractive, they're great for close-ups, they're strong enough in most situations. Focusing is very easy, with binoculars, many people find it difficult to adjust the diopter and fine focus, it obviously takes half the time here. It's fairly compact, smaller and much lighter than even a foldable pair, but packs a lot of energy. The view is impressive, sharp and clear. The tripod mount is a nice…

Basic Viewer: Monocular

I prefer a monocular to binoculars, I always have trouble with that extra step of combining two views (on top of the focus step). It's a pretty good gadget for the hobbyist I think, especially a good product for a kid who's frustrated with that extra step I mentioned above. (Maybe I'm a big kid?) This Gosky is super easy to use, adapts to people with or without glasses, and feels beefy/sturdy in the hand. I had quite a bit of trouble adjusting the strap properly, it was annoying, but I'm not…

Good for astronomy beginners. Great for game viewing.

The build quality of this scope is really good. The focus knob is buttery smooth and will hold focus until you decide to change it. The rubberized monocular lies reasonably securely in the hand. Holding down for quick recognition works well, but with the zoom level, your image gets a little shaky. I mounted it on a tripod and had a great time with my kids watching the different birds that grace our garden. We also used a tripod/monocular to observe the moon and other bright Messier objects (too

Telephoto photography for your Android

I give 5 stars because of the optics, ease of focusing and overall quality of the Gosky monocular. As you can see from my photos, you can take some decent wildlife photos with this device. I did all my examples with the monocular mounted on a tripod for easier focusing and to be ready when the birds enter the photo area. I have a G6 LG Android with standard and wide angle lenses. I've found that using a wide-angle lens with a monocular reduces a lot of the telephoto quality of the photos, so I…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Nothing

In considering Gosky's monocular, I would suggest discussing two aspects: first, the monocular as a lens that allows you to see far away, second, the ability to clip it to the iPhone (very early in the commercial ). The monocular is amazing and takes that far closer. It doesn't have parallax (it's a monocular), but it's lightweight, easy to carry, and waterproof so you can take it anywhere. The lenses work very well, the scene they render is well lit in all but true night conditions, and…

  • Not as thick as other models

In evaluating Gosky's monocular, I would suggest discussing two aspects: first, the monocular as a lens that allows you to see far away, and second, the ability to attach it to the fasten iPhone (in all honesty in advertising). The monocular is amazing and takes that far closer. It doesn't have parallax (it's a monocular), but it's lightweight, easy to carry, and waterproof so you can take it anywhere.
