Holtzmans Credit Knife Wallet Black Review

I've been carrying "credit card openers" around with me for a few years, mostly cheap Ian Sinclair imitations. But recently I decided to find a more solid and durable one and I definitely found it at Holtzman. First, it actually stays together during use. The blade looks a lot better. And the metal plates on top of what's usually just plastic give it a heavier look and feel far more durable.

It's not something you'll carry in your pocket. This is not intended for everyday use. Stick this in your wallet in case you just need a knife and it works great. It gets pretty blunt so I spent some time sharpening it with a stone until I got a really good edge on this blade. That's all. I keep it in my wallet, very sharp, and when I need to open a package or cut a piece of rope, but there's no other handy. For $10 I'm done.

The package actually contained two knives; One is lighter, made of plastic, except for the blade, which easily fits in a wallet along with my credit cards, and the other is the same size and design, but is a little heavier as it includes extra metal plates, but still fits anywhere can. I haven't put the knives through actual use or stress testing, so I can't say much about durability, but I plan to keep them as a spare for my spare knife in case of emergencies.

When I received it the blade was covered in something hard, the screws were halfway out and when I folded it you could see the posts and holes that were supposed to hold it together when assembled but it is not . If I don't hold it, like when I put it in between cuts, it just falls apart

I love the form factor of this knife but the parts that fold up are plastic and I don't think it will last long. But considering the cheap price I would buy another one. It's nice to just keep in your wallet, and if you really need a small knife for basic tasks like slicing open a box, it works great. Like I said, I just don't see plastic lasting very long. My daughter and son-in-law went to Barbados for our honeymoon last spring. As he was going through customs, he turned on the alarm.
