If you keep bees you already know that 1/8 inch hardware cloth is the standard for many ventilation or access control devices. but try going to your local shop and finding it when you're building a new shielded floor panel. In the likely event you can't find it there, it's probably the next best option.

A mesh of this size is very difficult to find. This is exactly what I need for my bird project. It's easy to work with and my birds will be safer than using a larger mesh or window screen. Thank you for providing. I may buy more from you soon.

Bought this wire as a bottom screen for my hives. Wire is great for bees; not too hard, small holes, easy to bend. It's a little pricey per square foot if you need a little, but that's something to expect when you're ordering small quantities online. I have tried using it to sift fertilizer before loading it into the spreader but the holes are too small. I'm sure I'll find other uses over time.

Big in the sense that it's big enough to let a decent amount of air flow through, but small enough to keep out bees, wasps, and most other medium to large insects. This mesh has lines that "wander" from the square. The roll can be rolled almost flat but if you take your measurements and use the grids as a guide to cut your work will not come out and may not come out square. We bought this to make floor boards with a beehive trellis. Using the squares of the grid as the cutting guide, the resulting screen was more trapezoidal than the measured rectangle.
