Impressive quality for kitchen lights

I am very happy with this air gap unit. It looks great and is set to minuets. Bulk upgraded our sink for a dime and I couldn't be happier.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Nothing

Cheap plastic tube with metal cap

High quality metal cap but thin plastic tube - made in China! The metal cap is very good, but the plastic tube is very cheap and flimsy! The price is high for the product but typical of Kohler products lately.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

All metal cap perfect for Kohler faucet

Has a great all metal cap (my previous one was a cheap metalized plastic), fits snugly and completely onto the plastic part. The metal cap fits perfectly on my Kohler faucet (also "Vibrant Stainless").

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Five to one star Good for kitchen sink aerator

I replaced the old Moem brand with Kohler because the inside of the Moen air gap cover was rusty. After just a month of use, I found that the drained water from the dishwasher had run out of the sink drain, as some reviewers have pointed out. I replaced the Kohler with a cheaper one from a local hardware store and the problem was solved. I have a Kohler kitchen faucet that has worked great for years, but this air gap needs quality control.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Fine

Worth a few bucks more

My previous air gap had very thin threads that were part of the actual air gap that screwed over the sink. It often fell apart when hitting the hoses or the air gap cover. The carvings on Kohler are much more solid. It matches the color of the Kohler sink and faucet I recently installed. The lid completely closes the entire air gap and fits snugly to the surface of the sink.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Blank

Attaches easily to kitchen and bathroom fixtures

The white plastic part is cheaper compared to the 35 year old cheap chrome air gap I pulled from my apartment's enameled steel sink, but the top matches my new one perfectly Kohler faucet. . Easy to install; Simply connect the hoses and push them through the hole below, then hand tighten the plastic nut on top and put the cap on. The only odd thing is that the gasket comes from the bottom and not the top like the old one (otherwise the stainless steel cover wouldn't fit), so it doesn't seem to…

Does what the code says

The product complies with the new sanitary regulations. While I'd still prefer not to pierce my countertop for $$$, updated codes now require that air gap for dishwasher installation, and there aren't many options that aren't an eyesore. If the code calls for it, I would recommend this product. The polished nickel finish went well with the Moen faucet we installed. Visually it looks nice on the counter, although it's really hard to keep clean. After 2 years the interior is quite uncomfortable…

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I highly recommend.

I am writing this review because I purchased a Delta Charmaine faucet from Home Depot. I was concerned about two things: would the lid actually cover the white part you see at the bottom of the air gap, and would that air gap fit my faucet? The answer to both of my questions is YES. I have an older style (about 24 years old, white tile, sink with insert that can only be replaced by replacing the entire countertop - yes, I'm lucky). So I needed to replace the faucet and was concerned that the…
