Description of 🔪 Kyocera Advanced Ceramic Revolution Series 6-inch Santoku Knife - Black Handle, White Blade

Ultra-sharp, pure advanced ceramic blades will maintain their edge up to 10x longer than steel blades. Lightweight and easy to clean, the blades will not brown food, are rust-proof and resistant to acids. The chef's santoku is an all-purpose knife for everyday slicing, dicing and mincing of vegetables, fruit and boneless meats and not to be used on hard or frozen foods.

4 years in use, now completely dull. Sharpening services are useless.

Has worked fine for 4 years. Never broken and I use it with care every day knowing it's fragile. The grinding service is a joke. Get a steel knife that you can sharpen yourself. Bought another one as a gift and it broke but was put in the dishwasher. If you buy one, handle it with care and don't expect a sharpening service. They purposely make it absurdly expensive so you don't.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Minor issues

Especially good for vegetables

Love this knife, light weight, easy to use, cuts most vegetables like butter. Also great for cheese, boneless meat. It is best to chop soft greens (coriander, parsley, etc.) at the end. I've never been this good with my good (and I thought) sharp metal knives. Only ever got bruised leaves with just a couple of cuts. But beware - sharper than a razor. I cut my finger trying to wipe it off.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Negative impression

Slightly better than mine fbrwr

Had a different brand and it splintered when I brushed water too close to the edge of the sink. This knife is slightly larger and slightly sharper. Mainly used for slicing boneless chicken breasts after cooking in my IP60. No need to "saw", just push a little and it will cut right through (sometimes the fork will cut it and need another piece of steel to smooth the cut). And yes, I keep it off the sink edge!

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

These knives are great. to her

I love ceramic knives but I have bought this knife twice and it broke both times. NOT because I did something I shouldn't have done. And when I contacted Revane, they told me that knife flew out of the return window. The return period is 1 month, the knife only lasted 6 months before it broke completely. I am disappointed in the quality and durability of this knife and even more disappointed in Revain's reluctance to rectify the situation.

Pros
  • something above
Cons
  • old

Extremely sharp but relatively brittle

These ceramic knives are primarily made of glass. Yes, glass! Therefore, when using, do not try to cut through bones or large items such as watermelon/zucchini, and do not throw them in the sink with the rest of the dishes/cutlery. The knife is exceptionally sharp and is great for cutting fruit and veg and that is the only purpose I use it for. I also recommend getting a knife guard. Cutting and dicing onions, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, etc. has never been easier.

Extremely fragile cutlery and knife accessory

I know it's a ceramic knife and it's supposed to be fragile, but this is the third Kyocera ceramic knife I've bought. The first and second were bought in Korea. Unfortunately, the soaped cutting board slipped out of my hand and the corner hit the knife at a right angle, breaking it. I still use a small one that I bought from the same store as the first one. After the first one broke I decided to order a replacement. I'm not sure if all the knives are made in the same place, but the one I got…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • No

Fragile and difficult to sharpen

I have had this knife and the smaller version for 10 years and have taken care to avoid chipping the blade. I also bought a battery operated Kyocera sharpener which I tried to use to sharpen this knife - it comes out a little sharp but not at all like they come from the factory. I have also used diamond whetstones and attempted hand sharpening and I have experience hand sharpening knives with whetstones. Due to the hardness of the blades, sharpening takes a long time. I can make a knife sharper

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Good but not durable

Edit: Updated review: Giving 1 star after owning the product for 1.5 years. I bought a knife in December 2019 that broke after a few months. I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement blade free of charge. 1 star mainly for customer service. The replacement blade lasted less than a year and broke completely in half while cutting cabbage. As a naive fool who thought I might have been pushing too hard, I bought the Kyocera again from the Bed Bed Store. It took me about 6 months…

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Hard to say
