I have a Dell XPS-15 with a 130W AC adapter and am happy to report that this monitor can charge a laptop via USB-C. When fully charged, it will stop to conserve battery power, then automatically resume when needed. I left the monitor volume at 50% and was then able to further adjust the volume to my liking via the Windows taskbar. This 27" 4K monitor works great with a Windows PC or Mac running Windows with absolute text/font/window clarity. At 150% scaling in Win10 everything looks very good. Quality degrades at 125% or native resolution. But text in the browser looks amazing at any scale. It has something to do with how Windows handles permissions. But not so good for the Mac world. This monitor is just amazing. It charges my Mac via USB-C, so no dongle is required. Also, I plugged in my Logitech webcam and it automatically connected to my Mac. Not only does the monitor look good, the fact that it replaces my charging dongle is worth it. The picture quality is amazing and you can tilt the monitor if you are a programmer.

This monitor (with UP in code for 2021) is an updated version of its predecessor, now with more power over USB-C and reportedly better color reproduction. You cannot get an image from USB-C unless you use an Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) cable. The included USB-C, regular USB-C, or the one you use to charge your MacBook will give you power from the monitor but won't give you a picture. The monitor works very well! I prefer a single USB-C connection to my MacBook Pro for power/display/accessories. The only extra I'd like to see is a second USB-C port on the monitor for peripherals.

So I think it's good value for money. The supplied USB cable works with some computers but not with others. I had to buy a powered Thunderbolt 3 cable to use with my MacBook for it to work, although it worked with my ThinkPad.

Nice picture on this monitor when it works - unfortunately my experience is that it doesn't work for very long. I have had to purchase/replace this monitor multiple times due to various hardware issues. The final manifestation came as a black horizontal line right in the center of my screen. Two clusters of solid black pixels from the box, one 5 pixels and the other 2. Too much hassle to return such a large item and order another, plus there's a chance the replacement will be black pixels too I'll leave it , but I suspect my respect for the LG brand dips every time I look at the black dots on my screen.

My mistake was that I thought I could get a monitor that would decently replace the screen on my iMac (I have a new Mac Studio). I've been trying to calibrate and adjust colors for days but this screen just can't work the way I was hoping. This is a very good monitor. Very clear and bright images and the characters are nice and clear. Connected to a new Mac mini and the only downside is that you can't change the speaker volume using the MAC widget.
