Liberty Pump 287 1/2 HP, 1-1/2 " Displacement.

This pump is not like the big box pumps. It has a stainless steel shaft which should not be corroded by water. It is very quiet and I can't hear it turn on compared to my other one that went to the sump pump farm. From the outer finish (which looks like fired porcelain) you can tell quality starts with the looks. The switch that rises with the water level is slightly on the curvature of the pump which keeps it close to the pump body which in turn keeps the switch from touching the side wall of…

Best quality pump among water pumps, parts and accessories

The first drain pump I had at home was the Zoeller M53. This lasted 3 years before I started having problems with the switch not turning on. I replaced it with a Wayne 1/2 HP pump with a "Switch Genius" electronic switch similar to the "LevelGuard" switch sold here and some pumps. It worked great if you kept the switch clean. But it had to be cleaned several times a year which was annoying. The good thing was that at least in the "on" position it always cracked and the pump was so loud I always

Wow! Blows away everything that could be found in stores.

This is my third pump for the brick foundation of the house. Although we are outside of the flood plain on the FEMA map, heavy rain brought water into the home. It's been coming faster than the ground can recover lately, and the last storm hit at high tide. The pump I had could not handle the amount of water coming in. We rushed to Home Depot to get another pump, got the biggest one, and it barely kept up with the infiltrating water. So I bought this Liberty 287 that pumps more than two of the…

Quiet, reliable replacement for Zoeller

Background: I ran in the basement for about 4 years, it was necessary to clean the pan very regularly (at least 1 time per hour even in dry summer conditions) . The Zoeller switch began to fail, a common problem reported in Zeoller reviews. I would often have water alarms and would run down to the basement to find a working backup sump pump because the Zoeller was completely submerged but not pumping. For several weeks I lowered and raised the float on the Zoller to make it work. After a while…

Why I bought a Liberty pump

When you look at a Liberty pump you are most likely comparing it to a Zoeller pump. First, both are great choices and many people will tell you in their reviews that they are vastly superior to what you find in "big box" stores. I totally agree. Both brands offer several Revain pumps that offer excellent value for their design, price, features and being manufactured/assembled in the USA. Given that this has all been covered by others, I thought I'd focus on why I chose Liberty, while hopefully…
