Replaces the old Moen single handle shower, you need an adapter 145058 to change the position of the holes onto the new faceplate and you need to turn the valve position to switch hot to cold and vice versa . The end result is very good, if a bit pricey. There is a video on YouTube to see the process.

Nice looking shower enclosure but as I wrote in my review of the included Moentrol valve the volume control is very limited. I would save money and hassle and go with the posi-temp version. It was really hard to find. Sold at Lowe's and Home Depot. Setting the temperature stops is a lot of work, with a lot of trial and error.

I upgraded my old owner's shower enclosure with a Grohe rain shower system. I didn't want to spend extra time doing it myself or pay extra money for a plumber to replace the controller as it was just a trim issue. Everything else is in good condition. Looks good and works well! I have just completed a bathroom project and purchased this trim kit to replace an old Moenttrol unit. I was trying to avoid replacing the valve in the wall and redoing the plumbing and this trim kit allowed me to easily install it directly onto the valve which is over 25 years old - cool! At first I was skeptical that this block would fit directly onto the old Moentrol valve, but after speaking directly to Moen they were able to direct me to trim kits that would work

WOW I can't stop looking at this trim kit for my Moentrol shower valve! I had installed another trim panel in the last 10 years and was quite happy with it, but when I saw this at Revain it suits my body and the style of my bathroom fixtures much better than my previous trim set! This rating is based on the installation of this product on a valve + cartridge over 25 years old. If this trim is installed on a newer valve, it may work properly. .After installing this trim I noticed a small leak in the cartridge insert for my old valve. Water seeped through the clamp slot.
