The perfect knee pad for the student pilot (and pro)

It was exactly what I was looking for. As a student pilot, I wanted something that would allow me access to my iPad for the pre-flight, as well as a place to clip out my paper charts and frantically take notes from ATC. If I'm just using paper, I just keep the clipboard magnetized on the front of the knee pad. Then when I want to use both foreflights on my iPad with a notepad, I just paste the clipboard into the folio and have the best of both worlds. The overall design of the product appears…

Broke on first use - flimsy - but the company fixed it quickly

One of the clasps broke on the first leg of a multi-day trip. Not impressed at all. I went to the MGF website to request a service but was stopped by an incorrect captcha implementation that needs updating - I can't send a contact request so I'm stuck. I would not recommend this product. *Edit* May 11, 2018: Upgraded from 1 star to 4 - The company responded to my tweet and promptly shipped replacements and clamps. Very responsive once I was able to communicate with them. Nice to see that they…

Knee pads for multitasking pilots

One of my first impressions was that it didn't do what I was hoping it would. This should allow the flexibility to place the clipboard inside and out with magnets, giving you a smooth writing surface on one foot instead of both feet. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out if the sellers wanted the magnetic strap that rests on the front cover and is used as an iPad stand when not in use in flight removed from the front cover and metal clipboard can be placed on the front cover, with a great…

The perfect knee pad for your electronic flight bag. AKA iPad

MyGoFlight iPad Kneeboard Folio C - Universal (For iPad 2/3/4, iPad Air, Galaxy Tab 10, Other 9-10 inch Tablets) This kneeboard is used with iPad Air 2 and i added photos to show how it fits. As you can see from the photos I use one of the magnetic covers and clip the top of the cover into the knee pad clips. The iPad rests on the open lid and stays secure. I put it in a horizontal position so I can lift the iPad up a bit. I hold the iPad tilted up slightly and place a checkbook (or whatever…

Clumsy cases in bags, cases and cases

Definitely not worth $154. It is very bulky and very heavy. You may need to factor this into your weight and balance (similar to JK). It's very bulky. It's like carrying a thick book around with you. Not very flexible and not to be used for sticks and rudders as it takes up a lot of space. A few positives are the way it holds the iPad. Literally almost every other iPad knee brace uses bulky elastic straps to hold it in place and constantly turning off the screen and pressing the app volume…

Extremely functional and high-quality knee orthosis.

As a pilot who has tried many iPads and knee pads this is the best knee pad I have ever used in a cockpit. The magnets on the metal clip work great and make it very easy to go from viewing the iPad to closing the case to using the clip. Some things feel well made when you hold them in your hands, and that fits the picture. It has strong long velcro that you know will last forever, powerful magnets and nice skin. It might seem like a small thing, but as someone replacing a knee pad a little less

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Nothing

It works, although there isn't much choice these days. Since the iPro Air Commander has been discontinued, there are no other knee pads that fit the clipboard and iPad Pro. I find the MYGOFLIGHT knee pads for iPad very expensive. Also, it's very heavy so it wobbles around the leg, a second strap would be very handy and would make the kneeboard much more stable (like MYGOFLIGHT saves on elastics, you should ask their elastics suppliers). A fortune!). As already mentioned and in the title, there…

Expensive and a big drawback, but haven't found anything better so far.

Firstly, despite the fact that the price of this item is VERY overpriced and although my first one failed due to poor assembly (see photo), I have just ordered a second one because I haven't found a better one yet. It keeps my iPad securely in the air and also allows me to use it as an everyday bag (by removing the leg strap) when I'm not flying. I didn't order the first one through Revain so I can't go into my story and say how long it took before it failed, but I think it was 18 months to 2…

Expensive and doesn't fit well. Do not buy, I bought it to use as a knee pad. This is a regular knee pad, just as comfortable as other $40 knee pads. The clips are suitable for different types of iPads, but you have a clipboard that is not properly protected to avoid scratching/damaging your iPad screen. The clipboard is printed with IFR and VFR checklists. The silkscreen is not applied very well and one side looks faded, not as sharp. Little attention to detail and poor quality. I bought this…
