As others have said, this thing is great, except for the fact that the strap sometimes becomes loose due to the movement of the plastic buckle. Luckily for me that doesn't happen often.

Keeps 3 out of 4 dogs out of the cat room. The three big dogs don't get along, but the smaller rascal manages to squeeze through, which is to be expected given he's the same size as cats. This is a great solution!

The best product I have bought to keep my dog away from cat food and litter! I wish I had bought earlier. I used glue at first but the cats weren't used to the door being only slightly open and would knock the door and accessory off the wall so the screws supplied had to be used and that wasn't a problem.

Works fine until one of our dogs pushes open the door to get the hook out. I had to place the hook at the bottom of the hole instead of the top (as shown in the picture) to prevent this from happening again. So far this has done the trick. I would also recommend doing a mock test to make sure the hook doesn't pop out.

Don't let my golden retriever in our basement if my cat's feeder ever goes out. After a few months we don't need him anymore because he's gotten used to the fact that he can't get through with the door ajar. This is very strong because the first week he tried to open it but he never moved! Very impressed would buy again. And we did the installation with glue, not screws!

I spent months trying to figure out how to keep my dog out of the room where the litter box was. I have tried enclosed litter boxes which my dog has kept climbing into and my cat has been unhappy with them. Not only does this item come in handy when I'm not around to babysit my dog, but I also use it to keep her in the room when I'm there. It can certainly be used by parents of small children. It was a very economical solution to my problem.

We have had this problem since we had a puppy. We put the cat crates and food in the garage, left the door ajar to let the cat in, and put in a baby gate to keep the pup out. But the gate is too high for the cat to easily jump over, so we placed a chair inside and outside the door to give the cat a chance to jump in any direction. I'm pretty sure everyone says it's not strong enough, it was just installed wrong. I bought this because my older dog goes downstairs in the middle of the night but can't get up unaided so he will sit and whine until I get up and help him. I couldn't just close the door because I wanted the house to heat/cool evenly and I wanted the cats to have access to a toilet and water. The tape was incredibly easy to install.
