Make a sure grip - grilling and grilling accessories

Have used it a few times and it seems to do the trick. Goes perfectly with my carbon steel pan and needs the same care. The design of the handle and the attachment give the impression of a high risk of burns on the forearm. After reading reviews about it, I used a broken branch on our birch and four more screws to avoid the risk of burns. You can see the added screws in the photo. Black countersunk screws would be nicer! The thicker handle is much more comfortable to grip and hold in different…

Mixed results good for grill presses and irons

While it keeps the bacon flat and helps it cook evenly, it also traps moisture, which apparently lengthens the bacon's cooking time and creates an unappetizing white substance (probably fat and water) on the surface of the bacon and the bacon will be very moist and soft to the touch. I've only tried one brand of bacon. Maybe other brands don't react that way. I've found that when I remove the press for the last few minutes, the bacon is fairly flat at that point and the excess moisture…

Love this press for outdoor grilling and cooking

I love this press. It's nice and heavy as you would expect. The wooden handle heats up, but does not heat up. One thing that surprised me but shouldn't have done. Well, I have a cast iron skillet. Of course I preheat it. When I first tried the press, I placed it in a pan and preheated it along with the pan. The burger was fried on both sides. Oh, I flipped it and let the other side cook for a minute, but gosh, that cut down on the cooking time. Another nice plus that I wasn't expecting. Using a

This unit is amazing! It comes pre-seasoned but I had a few.

I've been a fan of cast iron skillets for years but have never owned a bacon maker before. what was i thinking This unit is amazing! It comes pre-seasoned but I had a few thin spots so I seasoned it with a very thin coat of flaxseed oil. handle removed. In the oven for 90 minutes at 450. Repeat. Perfect. I can't believe how well this works for any type of meat. And it greatly reduces spatter. It fits perfectly with all three of my standard #8 cast iron skillets, flush with the bottom with a…

Big size! Looks great. after setting.

See my photos and tutorial videos on YouTube about cast iron seasoning. I just received it although I haven't used it yet. Cast iron is cast iron and will treat you well if you treat it well. I look forward to using this press beacon. When I received it as a cast iron fanatic I didn't find it usable until I made some adjustments. It had some sort of finish on the iron so I decided to take it off and reseason it and now it looks amazing and black like cast iron. The handle wasn't too strong…

8/10 almost perfect bacon maker at a good price

Have been using it for a little over 3 years. He is strong (yes). The handle has an annoying twist that could be corrected with minimal effort if it bothers me enough, which doesn't seem to be the case. When seasoning it in the oven I accidentally left the knob on which turned out to be no big deal as it looked a bit dated. To be honest I liked the look and was impressed that it was of such high quality that it didn't fall apart or burn like cheap glued on junk. Wort has formed. It's not a…

Why didn't I buy this many years ago?

Frying raw bacon used to be a disaster. It will warp, burn black in some spots and be slightly mushy in others, stick to the cast iron skillet and not be crispy. Thought I'd give this bacon maker a try, expecting at least the bacon to come out flat and maybe brown better. Well, I'm shocked at how much this bacon press has changed. The same raw bacon comes out perfectly flat (yup), doesn't burn, doesn't stick to the same cast-iron skillet, and comes out crispy. It comes unseasoned, but there…

good iron! The best in outdoor grilling and cooking

I received my order in a very timely manner! It has a coating on it that needs to be followed the first time you use it, the seasoning instructions need to be followed, basically wash with soap and water and this should be the first and last time water should be used to put this press or to clean any cast iron cookware. Unless it's just something hot to loosen stuff that's stuck or there hasn't been a cooking disaster that would have caused the iron to burn out and the spices to rise again when
